Taskbar Clock freezes

Start11 2.5.3.1 in W11 22H2 build 26100.6584

Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows 11 and installed Stardock Start11. All the possible customisations are great, but I noticed one unpleasant trouble. The taskbar clock freezes inadvertently. I checked the Windows Clock system service, which is running fine, and the system clock is operating smoothly.

The only way out is to restart the system.

I also refreshed all system files (sfc /scannow & dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth). I also tried to restart Windows Explorer, but it did not help.

Would you help or advise on what to do?

Regards, Petr

P.S. I also would prefer to have just the time displayed in the taskbar, but it also shows the date now.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

Thank you,
Basj,

I can reproduce the same issue, you don't have to restart the whole system to fix it, just restarting explorer from Start11 menu is enough to resolve.  However this intermittent issue is quite inconvenient.

Do you use the OS virtual desktop like feature?

We are aware this can happen on computers without even having Start11 installed suggesting an OS bug.  There is a theory this is more likely to happen if you have seconds enabled on the taskbar too and some suggestion it is linked to that particular feature.
