Issue with Configuration opening

from Stardock Forums

Hello,

I have Fences Version 5 and was using it on a Surface Pro Arm64 system running Windows 11.  I recently restored it to factory settings due to BSOD.   After reinstalling Fences, the configuration will not open.   The Lock fences does not show up in the context menu either.   I am wondering if I can get a call from support for help with this.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Unfortunately, Stardock do not "Call in", they do forum support right here in the forum.

We also need more information on your system.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Fences 5 full version number.
  3. Open up your task manager and see if Fences have set to Startup twice. Fences need to have these startup to work properly. Refer screenshot below. Should look something like this.

Fences Version is 5.8.9.3

I do not have any Fences App entries in my Startups.  See below.

I can fix the context menu error with the link you sent, so thanks for that.

I do not get any error messages when attempting to open Fences.  Just does not open.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
