Fence issues

I'm having issues using Fence. I can't manage to make it works properly.

My desktop is just black with any icons/folders showing, but they are still there in the desktop folder through file explore. I unistalled Wallpaper Engine to avoid conflicts but it didn't worked. I tried to re-intall Fence and reboot, but when I clicked on the icon the system told to delete the icon since it wasn't linked to anything.

I don't know what to do. I tried to install Fence 5 (5.89) and Fence 6 (5.98.0). Nothing works.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. So now you on Fences v6, yes? Please stick with one version and let us work on that. Please don't keep changing version, it will just make thing more difficult to work out. Few questions

Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Post some screenshot or video showing the issue so we understand better.
  3. Please reconfirm that Wallpaper engine is removed from your system. You can reinstall it later when you resolved your issue with Fences.
  4. Do you have OneDrive Desktop Sync turn on?

Hi, the info you asked : 
1. Windows 11 Home 24H2 Build 26100.3775

2. I run Windows Safe Mode and removed Fences 6 and Wallpaper Engine. Rebooted and re-intalled Fences 6. Everything worked till I shut down my laptop. Next day (today) I turned on the laptop and what I see is what you see from the screenshot I attached. Empty desktop with no icons showed. When I tried to click on the Fences 6 icon I couldn't run the application.

3. Wallpaper Engine is uninstalled.

4. I disabled OneDrive Desktop Sync

First, please check your setting on these setting.

  1. Quick-hide. Try disable it and see all the Fences and/or icon appear.
  2. Pages. Try disable it and see if the Fences and icon appear.

Try these setting and report back with what you see when you change them.

I can't even access the Fence 6 settings. Now I can (in some way) use it, but it's impossibile to access to settings. 
The only thing I know is that right after I will reboot the laptop, everything will be as before, with no desktop and icons. This app is messing with my desktop.

Interesting, something might interfering with Fences. Try Cleanboot: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1332445272/Fences+Clean+Boot. Do note that Cleanboot need to be done with care. Please follow these steps properly.

I would like to request a refund, since the product is clearly not stable at the moment. I managed to remove everything and I think to prefer to have it not installed on my laptop. Thanks

Please raise support ticket using the link below, use the "Refund" option. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple tickets, that will make your ticket go back to the end of the line. Send once and wait. Tickets will be answered by the order they're sent in.

I had a similar problem recently, black screen without icons while everything was fine in the Desktop folder. I also thought it was Wallpaper Engine, but even after I fired him, nothing changed. Fence 6 didn't want to launch either. Frankly, it becomes a pain to make it work properly. If someone has found a reliable solution, I'm a taker too!
