That's where the Group name should be. Does this group have a name or is it blank? If it doesn't, give it a name and see if that fixes it.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. As a test, if you change the Menu Style to something else like Windows 11 or Windows App style do the same black bar appear in it?

Thank you.

Okay. Need your full windows version. Please use winver.exe. and your full Start11 version number.

Also, are you using WindowBlinds?

This looks like it might be an issue with your installation. I would recommend uninstalling, download the latest Beta (2.4.9.2) from your downloads page https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products , and install. Make sure to reboot after uninstall, and again after the new install.

Test and report back with the results.

Also, try looking into if you have accidentally, turn on "custom menu background", if you do, turn it off and see if the black box still there.

What happens with the above Control setting and you have the mouse on a secondary monitor, and you you press the Win key on your keyboard?

Just add something here, did you uninstall Start11, reboot immediately after uninstall is done (important), reinstall with the latest available version, reboot immediately again after the installation? Those reboot is important to ensure specific files be replaced/installed properly.

Do you have any other 3rd party application installed that also change your taskbar? For example, Displayfusion, StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher etc.

Thank you,

no, nothing. the uninstall/reinstall eliminated the black block, but these new problems appeared with it. the app worked falwlessly otherwise ever since I bought it.

Look like either something not get installed properly or something is blocking the Start11 Start menu appear on your secondary monitor when you click the Start button there. Just as a test, does the Start button change to different Start button style?

Thank you,

I don't use multiple monitors, so I can't test these issues. If Basj is unable to help, he can forward this issue to someone on the Dev team.

It looks like you have many unnamed groups in your start menu setup. I don't know if that is an issue, but you could try naming them and see if it helps. As a test, like Test1, Test2, etc.

Sorry for the new problems.

yes, and when I set it (which unfortunately requires it to be on the left, and not in the center, then it works appropriately.
curiously, ONLY if I use a different start button image. if I use the default one, even if the taskbar is on the left, it won't bring up the start 11 menu.

and the search is still not as it used to be -- it is full of suggested things instead of previous searches.

well, the old problem is gone, and I've been using groups without names forever without a problem. unfortunately, the new problems are much worse. the black block was just ugly, the new problems changed functionality.

Just to be sure, Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
