Managing the number of activations

Purchasing on STEAM

Hello. I bought Start11 (for 5 PCs) on Steam. How can I control activated licenses with this purchasing method? The license key for the Steam version cannot be added to your personal account on the website to control activations. Thanks for your feedback.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe, for Steam purchase, the activation will be control by Steam. There will be no license key for Steam purchase. You just need to log in into your steam account to download, install and activate it.

Thank you.

Thanks for the answer. It turns out that there is no way I can remotely find out where the software is installed and manage the license.

If the PC fails, how can I deactivate the license in this case so that it can be installed on a new PC?

When you are informed that you are at a maximum, a prompt when you try to install will allow you to reset the activations.  Doing so will allow you to activate this new PC and any other PCs that are still using the license will silently reactivate.  If that puts you at a maximum again, that's when you can have issues of chasing a tail.

Thank you for your answer.

When purchasing through Steam, there is no way to add a license to your personal account (even if it is sent by EMAIL), therefore, you cannot manage licenses through your personal account and see on which devices the license is applied. The only way is to wait for the limit and only during the next installation will it be possible to cancel the previously installed license on the PC.

Does the license deactivate when the program is uninstalled?

The 'account' you have here with a Steam purchase is somewhat obfuscated (by design).  That said, the only way to 'add a license' would be via the DLC on the Steam store page.

While we can free up seats, we cant make it a common practice to do so and only if there is a problem with the license, one that would not allow you the action we discussed, freeing them up yourself when prompted.
