WindowBlinds 11: Gaps Around Resized Windows on Windows 10

Hi everyone,

I've been a long-time user of WindowBlinds and appreciate that the software continues to receive updates.

However, since upgrading to Windows 10, I've encountered an issue that might force me to disable WindowBlinds entirely.

When resizing a window to fill the screen (either top-to-bottom, side-to-side, or quarter of the screen), it doesn't extend all the way to the screen's edges. Instead, there’s a noticeable gap on all sides. This happens regardless of whether I resize by dragging the edges manually or by double-clicking the window edge.

Additionally, it seems like there’s an invisible "glow" or margin around windows—a band where the mouse pointer doesn’t register clicks. For example, if I try to click an icon partially visible beneath a window, the click doesn’t work. This band is about half the width of a desktop icon, which makes it quite intrusive.

Interestingly, windows that are excluded from WindowBlinds don’t have this issue. This problem occurs across multiple PCs, all running updated versions of Windows 10. I also use WindowFX, but I don't actively use its window management features. Changing WindowBlinds themes doesn't help. Disabling WindowBlinds completely resolves the issue, allowing windows to resize correctly to the edges and no band around.

Could this be a setting within the Stardock software? Or might it be a conflict with other tweaking software I use, such as 7+ Taskbar Tweaker, Winaero Tweaker, or ClassicShell?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe what you're getting is the gaps for Frame shadows, which included in most of design skin. To verify, enable this option: "Do not use per pixel frames even if the style supplies them" refer screenshot below. Apply the skin again and see if the issue goes away.

Other option, you can look for skin that don't use shadow/gap in its per pixel frames

Thank you.

I would recommend removing all that software and running a good registry cleaner after removal, then rebooting. I have been using Windows 10 for years with only Stardock software and have never had an issue like this.

Also, are you using Windowblinds 10 or 11?

This actually happens on some themes for me as well. Only when in the corners of the screens. It can be replicated with my aero11 theme from here on Wincustomize. It seems to be any theme that utilizes the shadows layer for the frames.

Example.

Great, thank you. This "per pixel option" worked! Problem solved. Do only downside is that titles of some windows are moved too far left. See the screenshot. But this is a minor issue.

That might be due to the skin setting itself. Try different skin and see it the incorrect icon placement appear in different skin.
