[Start11 V2] Removing an item from the jump list

There seems to be no way to remove an item from the jump list, only to pin it. Am I missing something? I'm using Start11 v2.11

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I see, there is "Remove from this list" for jump list on the pinned item on taskbar and pinned item on Windows 7 and Modern Style Start panel. That option not available on other Start panel style.

Thanks

I'm using the Windows 10 style start menu, and only use the jump lists in the start menu.

  • Why isn't unpinning supported on the other styles?
  • I'm talking about an removing unpinned item from the list, i.e. an item that simply shows up in the jump list because of usage.
  • If it's not supported via the UI, how can I remove them? Where are the lists stored? Registry? Some location on disk?

I believe it is depend on application you're trying to remove the jump list. For example if its Media player classic, you can go to file->Recent Files->Clear list. Something similar to MS Words and Excels etc.

  • I'm looking for ways to clear the jump list for "Remote Desktop Connection" -- the native app in Windows. Any suggestions on how to do that?
  • I don't want to clear the entire list. I want to remove selected entries. How would I go about doing that?

Also, still not clear why it's not supported on the Windows 10 and Windows 11 start menu panels, since that functionality is available on the native menus.

I don't use Remote desktop. But, I believe a simple search would give some suggestion: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=how+to+remove+item+jump+list+on+remote+desktop+connection

I am not sure why it is not supported in other Start11 Start panel style. However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

If you really want to remove an item from the "Recent" section in a jump list, you'll have to open the app and then right click the app on the taskbar, and then "Remove from this list."

Hopefully this feature will get added to Start11v2, as it's available in the default Windows start menu.
