How do I stop Windows updates removing my my old windows start up view

I have tried to delete and download to update but ended up in having a trial offer and repurchase the product.

Not sure how this works. Everytime I get an MS update it changes my Startdock set up. Now it will not update and eventually had to take a new trial offer to repurchase software. I could not find a way of contacting you other than through here. Help please

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know few more details.

  1. Which Stardock Software was you referring to? Do you mean Start11?
  2. If it is Start11, which Start11 version did you purchased? V1 or V2?

Well it  all started with Start 10 and I have remained there and it has all the time with Start 10. I read that Start 10 was compatible with W 11 but that does not appear to b so. I have always updated Star 10 when requested. I am not sure what version but have had to pay another subscription as requested for Start 11 which is compatible with W10. My PC although of good quality is not compatible for W11 and I see no reason just to buy a new laptop just for the sake of it. No idea about Start 11 version and cant seem to find what version it is. Sorry to be a numbskull its probably why I wanted to remain with the old fashioned W8 type interface. Sorry!

Yes, Start11 v1 or v2 are compatible with Windows 10. I need to know which you actually purchased. You might need to check here and see which version show up in your account download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products.

That most probably is Start10 v1.98. That should be fine for Windows 10. Did you try to install Start11? If you did, than you can not use Start10 license key to activate Start11. You will need to purchase Start11 and you will be given license key for Start11 for activation.

If you wish not to move on to Start11, you should just stay with Start10 as long as it still work with current Windows 10.

Actually it has ceased to work altogether and I am forced to use ne windows as I cannot get Startdock 10 to even upload as before as it will not save the settings. Also I need my product code as I was forced to restart my PC when I thought I had retrieved it but I did not tried twice but did not work.

 

Please give me simple instructions as all the software people treat us numpties as experts

What stop working altogether? Start10? Does it load itself after system start? Do you have to activate Start10 every time you reboot? Please elaborate more so we understand the issue better.

Actually that is not true. I redownloaded my Start 10 as I only use it for Windows 7 start and it is in my programs but no matter what I do it will not operate !

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
