Documents goes back to one fence after reboot

Hi.
Every time I reboot all new documents/files goes back to the fence where new documents should go.
This means that even if I sort them to other fences and then reboot my PC they jump back.
This is very annoying.
I have reinstalled Fences 5 but still the same.

Any ideas?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know how did you setup your Fences rules. Please review them and see if any of the rules causing the files move to different fence.

Thank you.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

I have uninstalled everything again.
Created all fences again.
Saved the layout.
Then moved around some fences, pressed restore layout and all but 1 fence are gone.
Please help

On your new issue. It might be due to those Fences moved to your second Fences pages. Try disable Fences Pages and see if it return to your main Fences page.

Okay, might need to start all over again. Need to have this few information first.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe
  2. Fences full version number installed.
  3. Monitor/s information resolution, scale (100%,125%,200% etc)
  4. Icons size settings.
  5. Post a video of this issue somewhere and share the link here.

Hi.

Even after a factory reset of my PC it does the same.

Only 2 of all fences are stored after reboot.

Thank you for your video. From your video, your setting was on "Don't preserve my desktop layout". Please change to "Store my layout on a per minotor configuration basis". And try creating a new Fences, move icons into it. Backup the layout. Move those fences around and do the restore backup and see if the return to the saved location.

If this does not work, please send us a copy of your settings. You can do this by using regedit.exe.

Instructions:
Open RegEdit.exe and navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences". You can right click the "Fences" key on the left (the navigation tree), click Export from the menu that appears, then upload the exported ".reg" file.

But yes please adjust the setting recommended by basj, as that is likely to resolve. Since you have "don't present my layout", you'll probably need to move a group around and wait a few moments to ensure the new settings take full effect (and possibly a reboot). But I think this will have impact for you. It is the new forced-default starting with v5.81

Hi.
I have changed to "Store my layout on a per-monitor-configuration basis".

Now it seems to work

Thanks for all support.
