Don't know where you live, but my Zip 03046 doesn't work with a lot of websites. We have a ZipCode, but no post office and I usually end up using one of the larger neighboring towns Zip's....Other thing might be you need to configure your firewall

Thanks, Essencay. I'll try using another zip. It's just that I've never had this problem before, with any other dx objects or themes, or with Sysmetrix. So, I don't think it's the firewall. But hey, ya never know........

Nope, no good. I tried changing the zip, and checking Zone Alarm. Neither of these are the problem. But, thanks again, anyway.

Wow.. some heavy issues here. Although I may not be of much help on it.
First off, what zip do you live in. (Have you d'loaded the updated theme where I replaced the weather script?) If not, you will need to do that, as the old script no longer works. I had some issues with it on testing, and I had to unload DX, remove the contents of /desktopx/mytheme folder and start again. The weather worked then.
As for your url's , im not familiar with the workings of avant browser, but I would think that a url is a url is a url.. and that your default browser should open them.
As for the position of the positioning... the word "netowrk" is a child of "box6", at Horizontal 20 vertical 3. Box6 has no parent object and should be at position H7 V705.
Perhaps things will appear properly after you take the drastic step of deleting the "mytheme" folder contents and reloading the theme. Also, gotta ask.. are you running it a 1280x1024?

Phoon, thank you for answering my questions. I thought I did download the new theme, but I already had it, so it may have not been fixed. You're right, though. I will delete the theme and reload it. > But, all that configuring.......... se la vie.....

I live in zip code 11940. It's not that obscure a place. East end of Long Island, NY down on the south shore. It's freakin' cold here today..... but, I digress...

And yes, I am running 1280 resolution, so that's not the problem. Although, now that I think of it, maybe because I have also configured my desktop to enlarge text by 10%, that may cause the Box 6 misplacement issue. But, I somehow doubt it, because everything else works and fits very well. So, I sure won't bother it right now.

I also would have thought an url is an url is an url. Avant Browser is merely a shell ove IE, and it works for everything else I do. Would the fact that none of the url properties include any scripts to edit? None. Would it require a script? I would have thought so, but what do I know. Though, I'm learning every day.

For whatever it's worth, I have gef's Fadeout loaded now instead of Chained Lightening, and it's also really fabulous. Now, I'll download the new Lightening.......... Then, I'll have to make a decision as to which one to keep.

And, therein lies the biggest problem with all of the WC/SD stuff. Decisions, decisions..........

Phoon, I have downloaded the updated Chained Lightening, and the weather works. And, the boxes are where they belong. I am now configuring other stuff, so I can get back what I lost.

But, none of the sites in the websites box or the google toolbar work. The dialogue box with the red/white X pops up stating, "Windows cannot find 'http://www.[website].com'. Make sure you thped the name correctly, and then try again." I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Also, how do I get the media player to actually produce sound? It seems to work, but sans sound. I've never used Object Media before, and I've tried to configure the file associations, but that's not working. Any ideas?

And, on another note, the photo in the frame with this new update is nowhere near as nice as your original photo, that being the Chained Lightening wallpaper. So, now I guess I'll just have to replace it with something of my choosing ASAP.

dabe - OOPS on that image in the frame. When I updated it the last time i must have forgotten to put it back to the original state.
I have re-submitted the theme with that fixed.

Object Media - If you get the lightning animation when you hit play, then it is working. Once more, I ask the stupid questions... there is a volume slider in the theme, is it up?

Phoon, I already changed the image. I took a photo of some canoes overlooking the bay about two years ago. It is mostly blue and a rather moody image that matches the theme colors quite well. I've actually used the image alot for my computer wallpaper. Until I found this site, I ALWAYS used my own photos for my desktop. So, no need to send me the original image. If I do want to use it, I can make my own from the Chained Lightening wallpaper.

As for ObjectMedia, I'm just trying to figure out how to use it. For some reasons, it plays some songs but not others. The playlist won't even recognize my mp3's, and I don't know why. It seems to be looking for specific playlists, so maybe I have to create them. I dunno. Just asking. And yes, the image animation is working fine, even with no sound. And no, the volume slider is not the issue. I really don't know what the problem is, but I don't think it's the theme. It is beautiful.

Any idea about the url issue in the Web Sites menu? It just won't recognize urls as targets, and I can't find anything in Properties that would make a difference. Do urls work for you?

Anyway, back to doing my laundry........

Phoon, did you download and install Avant Browser yet? It would be interesting if that was the problem, but somehow I don't think it is. I just don't know what's wrong. The websites are just not being recognized as websites. It's not linking to my browser, at all.

Does anyone else have any idea what my problem may be? The websites in Phoon's Chained Lightening won't work, and I'm at wit's end. >

Well, I installed Avant, and all works well (sorry to say), I'm at a loss now, but I will keep digging.
Do url's work from other themes?

Phoon, I just installed gef's Fadeout theme, and the same problem occurs with internet links on his theme. I just don't get it. It's not your coding, and it's apparently not DX. It's something with my computer. I hate this.........
