Fences 3 does not work anymore after Windows update KB5035941

I have Windows 10 Pro 22H2 on my machine. Today a Windows update was made (KB5035941). Now fences tells me that it was stopped because the Explorerer stopped unexpected. Reactivation by right click on the desktop ends with the same error message.

 

The windows update cannot be deinstalled!

 

So I am in a dead end.

 

Do you have any idea?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I am not on Fences 3 right now, but, from what I remember if this happened usually there is a corrupted Fences layout somewhere in your setting. What you can try is this. Delete off the latest saved layout snapshot files and than reboot. Try that and report back.

Snapshots are stored in the following directories:

  • 7/8/10: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Stardock\Fences\Backups
