How can i get fences 4 that I own

from Stardock Forums

I realize that software has gone to the subscription route so every year you have to renew or stop using. I bought Object Desktop years back before the "Subscription" based started. In that version I bought I own, I also subscribed to Objects Desktop last Aug and it expires Aug 2024.

 

There are only a few of the apps I use Start 11 which I own a 5pk and Fences 4.22 that I believe I bought separate from the Objects desktop that I own both one time purchase and 2023 subscription.

I just bought a new laptop and I installed Start 11 from my 5pk on it and I would like to install fences 4 ( I don't need Fences5) I know I can access Fences by installing one of the Objects Desktop, but I would rather download the fences I own to use on my laptop. If I have to buy another fences for  the laptop I will I just don't want a subscription based one.

 

How best to get what I need?

If you bought Fences 4 separate from Object Desktop then you will have a link to download Fences 4 in your downloads.

If you only have it via Object Desktop then you will need to track down a Fences 4 installer. Stardock software automatically downloads installer back ups as you install software. You should be able to find a Fences 4 installer in your "download folder" located on your old laptop / pc.

I can't find a separate Fences purchase other than Objects Desktop. I did download the programs separately back in 2016 and have fences 3..01 and FencesPro110 ( not sure what this is.

If I can still install Fences 3.01 will it upgrade to 4.0 with my license???

meanwhile I will check on StarDocks to see if I can buy just Fences as a one time purchase and not a subscription

Yes, Fences 5 can be purchased as a permanent license, look for the text, "need a permanent license". Although if you do happen to have the classic version of Object Desktop I would advise you to weigh re-subsribing to that into your overall decision. OD will likely give you Fences 5 and Fences 6 whereas a permanent license will only give you Fences 5.

Fences 3 will not upgrade to Fences 4 unfortunately. If you upgraded to Fences 4 and do not have a download of it in your download list, then officially you would need to make a support ticket. Otherwise you would need to somehow find a Fences 4 installer elsewhere. I am not 100 percent sure how Stardock feels about using a site like cnet which hosts Fences 4 installers.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. If Fences 4 don't appear on your account download page, it might be under different account. To check or merge it into your main account. Please raise support ticket using the link below, use the product not receive or ask a question option. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple ticket, that will make your ticket back to the end of the line. Send once and wait. Ticket will be answer by the order they send in.
