Issue No. 7: Prestige Victory

I am at the end of my game and I am about to win a Prestige Victory.  Therefore, this is the last post in this series.

Here is a save file that you can use to see what I am talking about:

After you load the save file, hover over my "Prestige Victory Progress".  It should look like the first screen snapshot below.  I can understand what I need to do to increase each of the items in the list (although I have no idea how the numbers are calculated) except for "Faction Power".  What is that?  If it is derived from the other items in the list, then I suggest getting rid of it since it would be duplicative.

The second screen snapshot shows the list from the "Data Bank" screen on the "Timeline" tab.  These lists are very similar.  Should they be identical?  And should the values be the same in both locations?

It would be nice to have hover text for each of the items in the Prestige Victory Progress list explaining how the number was calculated.  That would help players figure-out what they need to do to increase each of the values.

Tooltips explaining how things are calculated would be very nice to have indeed. By the way, could faction power refer to actual factions within a civilization ? If so, it is weird, since why would other civs care about your internal factions... And if it referes to the overall might of the civ, then it is duplicative and redundant.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for this detailed series, and resurfacing past issues as well, your assistance genuinely proves invaluable to the team, and provides a lot of needed details and context for us to help improve the game

As a retired programmer, I know how valuable detailed feedback is for finding and fixing bugs.  I also try to adhere to the philosophy of always suggesting fixes and/or improvements whenever I criticize how something works.

As shown in the screen snapshot below, I have been playing Galactic Civilizations IV in its various incarnations for a long time.  The game is outstanding because it takes you through an exploration phase filled with many discoveries (both good and bad!), a development phase where you create and develop your core worlds and research the technologies, and a war phase where you try to defeat your enemies.  It is also outstanding because of the many customizations you can make to your own civilization, the universe (how big it is and what is in it), and the civilizations you will play against.

I cannot think of any other game that could hold my interest for all these years.
