start11

folder pin, universal apps, configuration

Hi,

if there is a manual for start11 I would like to have and read it - till then I just ask my questions here   :-)

I have a shortcut to a folder on my desktop that I would like to have pinned in the start menu. There is a right-click item pin to start11 but that does not seem to do anything. Is this  bug or am I doing something wrong - what would be the best way to get a folder pinned to the start menu?

How do I pin universal apps?

On my win10 start screen I have a pin to the setup page "windows security" - is there a way to create a pin to something like than in start11?

Cheers,
Gunter

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.

To pin a folder to your Start Menu there are various way. Instead of pinning the shortcut to the folder. Why not pin the folder itself into a Start menu group or tab.

You can always search for the Universal app using Start panel search or looking it through your all program list. Right click on it and pick "Pin to Start menu (Start11)

Thanks

If you go to WinCustomize https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/icons/4748/ and download "Windows 10 Settings Icons" There is a "How To" document included with directions on creating shortcuts to Windows 10 Settings.

And once you move to Windows 11 you can download "Windows 11 Settings Icons" at https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/icons/4749/

You can pin any Settings shortcut to the Start11 menu.

I have the following tab on mine with all the Settings I regularly use.
