That's a good question. I'm not sure I know the answer, but Start11v2 offers many new ways to organize your Start menu, and I ended up rebuilding my start menu from scratch to take advantage of the new features. I have over 200 shortcuts on my Start11 menu, all on one page.

I started using Start11v1 in November of 2021 and then upgraded to Start11v2 in October of 2023, so I have gone through several reconfigurations thru the process.

Are running Windows 10 now and thinking of upgrading to Windows 11? If that's the case, I'm not sure. If you do an in-place upgrade from 10 to 11, then I believe your Windows 10 Start menu will populate the Windows 11 Start menu, but I can't remember. If you do a clean install of Windows 11 or buy a new computer with Windows 11, then you will have to start from scratch.

I do know that you will be able to make Start11v2, Windows 10 style, look like your existing Windows 10 Start menu. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but there are users here that are willing to answer questions. All in all, it's worth the time to rebuild your Start menu in Start11v2 if that's required. You'll be glad you did!

I did install the trial version and start11 tried to mimic what I had in my win10 start screen. I had a few container tiles (one tile with several tiles inside) and that threw start11 into a loop. I uninstalled, re-arranged these few container tiles and installed again and this time start11 did a good job.
