Wrong Icon and font size on desktop after installing Fences 5

After installing Fences 5, the size of the icons and icon titles on my desktop are very large.

Uninstalling Fences 5 fixes the problem.

I have multiple monitors with different resolutions. When using only 1 monitor (laptop), the icons are normal.

There is no sizing problem with Fences 4.

This is a serious bug in Fences 5. Switching back to Fences 4 for now until this is resolved.

Fences 5 is unusable and a waste of money.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Strangely, this is the first time I read about Fences 5 and large icons after installed. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows full version numbers. Use Winver.exe
  2. Fences 5 full version numbers.
  3. What is the scale setting on your monitors. (100%,125%, 200%)
  4. What is the icons size setting on your desktop. Extra large, large, Medium, Classic icons size?
  5. When it happened have you try rebooting the system or at least restart Explorer.exe.

Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.3155

Fences version 5.0.4.1 (also 5.0.5.4 Beta).

Monitor Percentage: 225%, 150%, 150%

Icon size on desktop is Medium.

Restarting explorer fixes the icon size for a couple of seconds. Then Fences comes in and changes it back again.

First, please try this, purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Purging and reinstalling does not fix the problem.

Installing Fences 4 does fix the problem.

I will stick with Fences 4 for now, until this is solved. The subscription I bought is useless. I really would appreciate a compansation.

I am sorry, I don't think it can be resolved it we can not reproduce the issue. Please tell us more, which monitor is having the issue? Do you see the issue if you set all the monitor with same scale factor? Just as a test, you can revert back to your default scale once the test it done. Change all to 100% and see if the large scale icon still there.

Also, it doesn't matter which monitor I put this on.   The issue is with fences.   When I do not load fences, the icons are the correct size for the monitor.   When I load fences, the icons and associated fonts are 200-300% larger.
