Free hosting offer?.....your opinions

I have checked this out and it seems not to be a scam. I was wondering if anybody has tried this and has any opinions.

I looked into this one about a month back, and read everything on the site... including the fine print.
It was a great offer that sadly, being outside the USA, I could not take advantage of. (I'm in Kangaroo Country) Seemed like there were no dirty tricks involved, only the request to continue on with them after the free period. Even then there was no obligation to continue.

I reckon you should perhaps email them, and ask them any pertinent questions you might have regarding the hosting, and any restrictions they might have, and if it sounds good... make your decision based on that.

Good Luck

I've used them since their first day, they're a first rate operation. However, their prices are a wee bit much, so you'll want to change to another host when the free hosting period ends.

They're fine. I've been using them for months as have several people I know. Let me just get you a couple of other discussion links that might make you feel more comfortable about the offer.

If I had to complain about the service , well...the control panel is dog slow sometimes, and the username/password scheme is a little odd and difficult to memorize. (You don't choose a username/pass as usual, you get a long string of numbers for both. For free I can live with it though.

Their prices may be a bit much but this free offer is for 3 years. Not too worried about that myself.

I've been considering these guys as well...have any of you transfered a domain to them? If so, any problems with it? I just want to make sure to keep my domain entirely under my ownership when I transfer it. I need to hurry and decide, as their promotion (3 years free) ends on 1/21.

Another web hosting company that has been recommended to me is http://www.fuitadnet.com/ Anyone know anything about them?

Thanks!

I am in the process of transferring a domain to them, If it gets done before the 21st, I will report back.

Here is one that I wouldn't recommend: http://aaa-webhost.net/

I’ve been with them for almost 2 years. The first year was great, but when it came time to renew my domain, they really messed it up. Then about a month after they let my domain expire, they finally got things straitened up. Then they went under new management, and it has been horrible ever since. They haven't answered any of my emails, and have shutdown their help desk. In the last 3 months, their servers have been down as much as they've been up. No kidding. I would avoid them like the plague.

So, I am in the process of switching to 1&1. I have my site setup, have created all my mail accounts, and have transferred my web pages. Now I am just waiting for the domain to get transferred.

Yes, I transfered 2 domains to 1and1. Took overnight for the DNS to propogate, etc. No problems really. I usually buy the domains from Godaddy.
