Touch issue Seems to have been fixed with 2.05, I misplaced my pen and are currently unable to test pen input at the moment. Thank you for fixing this :D

Happy to report that the first icon after the Start Button no longer gets corruption when centering the Taskbar (experimental).

Moving the first icon does indeed causes  an issue but only while the icon is moving though...

Quoting Neil Banfield,

Quoting sintemal,

I got an issue with the beta.

If I play a game in fullscreen mode and use the alt+tab to witch to another programm and than back, I have an invisible taskbar at the bottom of the edge on the desktop after exit game.

Thanks in advance!

Are you using an auto hide taskbar?

Also are you using enhanced taskbar mode in S11?

Hallo,

Are you using an auto hide taskbar?

No.

Also are you using enhanced taskbar mode in S11?

Whre can I find this settings? Thx.

End of sintemal's quote

With the new beta, still the same issue.

I could imagine, that it depends on the game "darktide" or maybe steam. With fortnite but also with cs:go, no issue like that.

Thanks so far.

I wrote in another post that the latest beta corrected the bug of not being able to pin icons at the primary and the secondary taskbars at the same time. Unfortunately, I just realised that the jumplists do not work at the secondary taskbar. Moreover, when I click i.e. at the Excel icon, the Excel app opens on the primary monitor. Thus, the functionality is really limited, since I have to move the mouse cursor to the primary monitor again and move the app to the secondary monitor and then choose from the app the recent file I need to open.

A less irritating issue that I had already documented somewhere is that the right click on the start button at a secondary taskbar opens the win+x menu at the primary taskbar.

EDIT: A temporary solution to the above jumplist problem. Now that pinning on secondary taskbars works nicely, I pinned the files I need often to the secondary taskbars and I manage to overcome the jumplist missing issue. I also use displayfusion and it has an option to open a file on the monitor where the cursor is located, so basically I manage to improve productivity with these measures.

Windows 11, 23H2 22631.3007

Intermittently, the taskbar won't unhide when I move the mouse to the bottom of the screen.  Tried to find a reproducable pattern, unable to.  I have turned off windows taskbar auto-hide and am using Start 11's autohide.

Unfortunately the position of windows is something thats often not controllable by the caller.

We have made a change for the next update which will include a suggested monitor when launching, but this is only used if the app opens the window based on the OS suggested locations and does not save locations itself.  The only other way is to force move the window, but this is rather out of scope for Start11.

Many apps remember the last location so will ignore the above.

I have just realised that what we pin to the secondary taskbar comes back to the primary if we disconnect the secondary monitors. Is it possible to avoid this? Automatic or all displays is OK but secondary should be only on the secondary? Because then the primary taskbar becomes too full.

Windows11 23H2 - 22635.2921; Start11v2 2.04

Using Windows 10 style; Use Windows 11 menu style icons

Icon Refresh not Working as Expected on Additional Pages

Icons on additional pages don't refresh when "Pick custom tile image..." is implemented.

In some cases all icons on the page are not displayed; other time just the icon changed is not displayed. The pinned items are there and the bounding box is displayed when hovering over the item, and opens when clicked, but the icons are not displayed.

Now, if you grab the bounding box and start to move it, the icon is then displayed.

Sometimes "Refresh icons" will cause them to show; other times not. Sometimes "Refresh icons" will cause all the icons to disappear.

To reproduce this issue:

Create a new page in the Windows 10 style;
Pin a few items to the new page;
"Pick custom tile image..." for all the items;
Right click one of the pinned items and then Icon>reset to default;
Now, right click the same item and then Icon>"Pick custom tile image...";
Select an image; and
All of the icons have now vanished.

Hover over the pinned items and you will see the bounding box; then
Left click an item and begin to move it and the icon will display.
End of pelaird's quote

This issue appears to be fixed in 2.0.5.1. Thank you.

I am using "Sart11 v2.05". There is a bug that the tab line moves when clicking on certain tabs.

In the capture, clicking on the "Filer" tab moves the line containing the "Filer" tab one row down.

Clicking on the "Disk&Backup" tab of a row that has been moved to the bottom row moves that row up.

The behavior varies depending on the tab you click.

Would it be possible for you to backup your Start11 settings and upload them and send me a link to them via private message?

Please note it would contain information about your shortcuts etc though not the files themselves.

Doing this would let us reproduce the issue here.

Suggestions/bugs:

*make the search content more robust and organized, even if you use the everything search, the results are cluttered unlike the startallback, it can search what you want to find (this is only using the windows search index), its more organized and have the capability to click let us say only the "documents" you want to search (it has filter) and will open the file explorer for more results, with regards to everything search its all over the place unless you are using the everything search tool(the program itself) where you can filter it according to docs, pictures etc.

+been doing the win10 styles search and new one style search still its missing a lot of search capability specially if your searching for FILE CONTENTS inside certain documents or pdf etc... it can't be at par with startallback fast searching using the default windows search indexing only.

=the search results also is limited to the size of the startmenu, that is why some details(output search results) are missing

=sometimes when you are searching file contents there is a chance that startmenu would stop working and refreshes the windows explorer. and you will repeat the process again( i dont know it its  memory leak)

*the starmenu is buggy when you use the automatic accent color, my background wallpaper (desktop) is set to change every 10 minutes so the color schemes should also change when the background changes, however, the startmenu becomes opaque or translucent, the only way to return to the starmenu desired layout(all those wallpapers in each tabs and its colors) is to clicking the starmenu again or on keyboard, it refreshes and adapts to the color schemes again.

*sometimes, when you try to click the startmenu there is a chance that the default win11 startmenu pops out even if you select the all option to always popout start11 menu

*ill still add more if i find something buggy or suggestions to keep your product better, anyway im supporting this good software coz i ilke i!!! ;)

my windows 11 version is 23h2 build 22631.3007

thank you Po! God bless.

Windows 10 OS Build 19045.3930

I just updated Start 11 v2 to the 2.05.1 beta. I use the Widows 11 style.Now my taskbar start button cannot be center aligned. It, along with the pinned taskbar icons, is now left aligned. Changing settings back and forth does not help. Rebooting does not help. This was working fine in version 2.05.

No, not Windowblinds, but, I do have Curtains and Fences 5 running. I reinstalled version 2.0.5 over top of the 2.0.5.1 beta, and this fixed things. I kind of remember something like this happening before with Start 11 version 1. But, I don't recall the solution. I am just now thinking that the fix required an update to Curtains.......
