Start 11 v2 Windows 10 Style, Groups from folders don't allow size modification

Hi,

After upgrading to Start11 V2, my folder portals in the start menu are not allowing me to resize them and thus have a permanent scroll bar as they are only 3 mini-icons in height.

There's an option in the config menu if you go to Group > Appearance > Group Row Count but that option does absolutely nothing and it just reverts back to 3 regardless of what I set it to, hence the size limit of 3 small icons. This functioned as expected in Start11 v1.

I'm on version 2.02 but tried on the live release as well, neither work. I'm fairly certain the Group Row Count is the culprit after further experimentation.

Also, unrelated to this issue but on the topic of the Windows 10 themed start menu (Which I love) I have a few suggestions.

- Changing the folder icons to an icon of choice would be awesome.

- Things such as row and column count should be resizable, not global. Why do all of my groups have to be a width of 4 icons? I think it's intended to be that way for rows but not for the number of columns.

- Maybe a way to pin multiple icons at once? It's very tedious to go through if you aren't able to use folder or fences linking.

Thanks,

Cam

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Maybe we are looking at different things but this is what my Start11 v2.02 with Win10 style look like. I believe the Group section can be as long to accommodate those icons and it will auto resize itself if more things added to it.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply!

I can make groups as normal, it's only when I try to make a group from folder (or fence) that the scrolling issue occurs. Can you try making a group from a folder and see if your behavior mimics the image i sent above?

Thanks,

I tested this and for some reason the Group Row count seems to be stuck at 3 Rows (small icons) and can't be changed. The Automatic setting doesn't work either. This is definitely a bug.

However, if the Folder is a Tab, the Group Row count works as expected.

Yes, I can reproduce the issue if add a group with a folder. Would like to suggest as a work around, you can create a blank group. Add a tab that linked to a folder. Something like I create below. A tab linked to my desktop folder.

As for the issue, I have forwarded it to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank you,

Ah, that's a good workaround! And once the folder starts showing as a tab I can customize the row setting. I still hope this gets fixed later on, but that is a great instant gratification fix for me haha.

Thanks again!

If you add a second tab to that group and make it only one row. When that tab is selected, your other folder tab will collapse and then automatically expand when you click it. This allows you to get more icons on one page. (See below)

First, Start11v2 is not an update, it's an upgrade and must be purchased. https://www.stardock.com/products/start11/

If you own v1, there is a discount for the upgrade.

You can trial it for 30 days.
