Does ANYONE still use ICQ? No-one that I used to chat to on it is there anymore!
I've just gone back to it after discovering that you can now use it without having to download it! It's called ICQ2go.. Wonderful invention as I am not allowed to DL stuff onto the works PC!

OK..can someone fill me in on this ICQ thingy? I'm relatively new to the PC thing still and I've never used the ICQ thing. Is it free or does it cost to download and use it?

Cool...I was just checking out ICQ lite and saw there might be an issue with a firewall. I'm using a Norton Firewall, so I'm wondering if this will be an issue. And I was also looking through some links they had there for configuring a firewall but saw nothing listed for WindowsXP.

Cool MrXaltec...that sounds a little better since I was seeing all this stuff in the faq's there about viruses, spam, and generally junk I'd rather stay away from.

You're welcome... I'm guessing ICQ2go is ok... I use it on works PC and the firewalls here are top notch naturally.
When I was using full downloaded ICQ I never had any probs tho!... Maybe I was just lucky!

I've used ICQ for years, never had any problems with any virus, spam, etc. It all depends on how you set it up.

I used to use it, till I was hacked. I had one of the coveted six digit #s, some guy from russia yanked it out from under me and started flooding my list and other lists with porn. I gave it up for a year, went back ended up witha number so long I couldn't remember it, and like you all my friends were no longer using it. I do miss it though. Was a fun program, and a big step up from powwow.(another proggie I miss)
