Fences not working on ROG Ally

Fences not working on ROG Ally

I want to use Fences in the Windows 11 that runs on the ROG Ally.  I can install the program.  When I try to drag the icons into a fence it doesn't work.  The only way to get an icon into a fence is drag the icon and create a shortcut or copy the icon.  The icon then shows up in the fence.  After rebooting the ROG Ally, there are no longer any icons in the fences, just back on the desktop.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I don't have ROG Ally to test out your issue, however, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks

Hi ptjohns10,

Can we get some more information from you. What is the Win11 version number(winver.exe), which version of Fences?

If I had to guess (and its just a guess as we do not have that device to test on), there is a special overlay that would be preventing Fences from functioning properly. If there is a way to 'clean boot' the device (that may have some of its native functionality temporarily disabled), that would go a long way to verifying that theory

Hello,

Please try the CleanBoot Step as request by Sean, and report back.
