Taskbar not displaying properly on monitor when using multiple displays.

I am using a Microsoft Surface Go 2 (model 1927) with the following Windows specifications:

Please see below images of desktop on start up using Start 11 (Version 1.47). Hopefully you will clearly see in the second image (screen 2) that the Start button, search bar and 2 icons are not displaying properly. Also the control centre icons and time/date on the far right of the task bar are not displaying properly on screen 2.

Screen 1: Surface Go 2 using recommended screen resolution of 1920 x 1280

Screen 2: LG Monitor using recommended screen resolution of 1920 x 1080

Further to my previous post, I am now experiencing the same problem with just using the monitor as the main screen. The screenshot below was taken just after start up. Again, you can see the start button, search bar, desktop and widgets icons on the left are not displaying properly, and the control centre and clock on the right aren't displaying properly. The PC and monitor are the same as described in my last post, but this time only using monitor as display.

Hello!

  • Exact Windows version: Windows 11 22H2 22621.2070

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen: Add all icons to the taskbar near clock

  • Problem: Stardock Start 11 displays all icons horizontally in the taskbar notification area

  • Anyway to display it like that in Windows 10?

The Taskbar icons sometimes doesnt reach the upper line, but always dont fit in the Taskbar. Also the Userpic in startmenu is always faster up than the starmenü. This doesnt show up in other programs like startallback

When I pin my Cloud PC to the taskbar using the Windows 365 store app I get a blank icon when "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" is enabled. If I disable this option it works fine.

Win11 22H2 Build 23526.1000

I understand Dev channel is not supported so this is just for information

Helle there,

I have observed that there is an issue with the automatic color and it never changes, independently of the color selection on windows, neither manual nor automatic.

Windows color set to automatic

What is it that you are looking for? The whole taskbar to change colors?

What is your transparency set to in Start11? If it is near zero, you are not going to see the tb change colors

Your colors are changing

The color change you denote is because one screenshot is from Windows with the color set to automatic and the other is manual, but what doesn't change is the taskbar color (65% transparency) and neither in the main start menu.

Anyway we can get some visibility on the Snipping Tool disappearing issue that has been present since March 2023?

https://forums.stardock.com/517647/

To recap - use the Snipping tool to take a screenshot.  App disappears from the taskbar after taking said screenshot.

Temp workaround is to relaunch Snipping Tool app from start menu after taking the snip.  The app will reload with the snip contents and will be visible again in the task bar.  ... Until you take your next snip.

Here is what I have mine set as, I do not need to relaunch:

Turn on the multiple windows settings

Take a snip,

click the preview window

Taskbar Height Offset Not Applying on Display Wake

Start11 v1.47, Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.2134)

This issue has been present for me since I purchased a license in November.

When the display wakes (screen off, not hibernated or asleep), the taskbar reinitialization does not correctly reserve its height relative to the open fullscreened windows, and the fullscreen windows take up the full height of the display, flowing behind or in front of the taskbar itself (seems to depend on what was last in primary focus).

I have been resolving it temporarily by going into the Taskbar settings within Start11 and hitting the Restart Explorer button to force a taskbar refresh.

I have provided a screenshot of my full desktop from one instance of the issue. The taskbar appears to be missing, but it is rendering behind the window.

Thank you so much, Paul Scroggins!! That was all needed to get it working.

Hi,

Problem : When using three monitors, Taskbar icons are not centering properly on one of the monitors.

Windows Build : Windows 10 22H2

Recreate issue : Have three monitors. Enable "center icons" option. Restart computer. Icons are now not properly centered on one of the monitors. It's not a fixed monitor, it can be any of the monitors.

Screenshot :

It's been a while now, and I was told it was being worked on, so I waited. But it doesn't seem like it is, since I have since updated Start 11 at least 5 times and nothing changed?

Can you please do something about it? I'm still experiencing it, and it's still frustrating, especially since I paid money for this app, almost exclusively for this option.

Thanks for hearing me!

When you say 22H2 you mean Windows 10 22H2 correct?

Hey Paul - thanks for getting back to me on your recommendations. Unfortunately enabling multiple windows did not address the disappearing Snipping Tool issue.  :(

When right clicking a taskbar window preview, the context menu is shown *behind* the preview window.

Windows 11:  22621.2134 and 22621.2283

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can not reproduce your issue on my system. The preview popup always hide away when I right click on it. Given, sometimes it take less than half a sec for it to hide but it always hide itself. And I can navigate the right click menu. Need to know which Start11 version you have on and Start11 enhance taskbar turned on or off?

Thank you,

I've reported this issue a few times across recent beta forums, but have yet to see a response - and I see it with this beta. This has persisted since last year and only started after v1.27 (if I remember correctly). I had previously documented the last working version in the original post from a prior thread but don't know how to get back to it to confirm):

I'm currently running Windows 11 Pro 22H2 22621.2283 on an Alienware m18 R1 laptop (same problem on a Dell G7) with 2 external monitors. I typically have 12 icons in the System tray, with 15 in the overflow.

What happens a few times during the week (I turn the computer off each night) is that on boot I will see only about half of the icons once Windows fully loads; this is often accompanied by a long delay in painting the pinned app icons in the middle of the taskbar. Sometimes I can fix this by restarting the Windows Explorer process in Task Manager, but often it will require a Windows restart - or two - to finally see all of the icons. Typically, if I don't see the Windows Security Center icon show in the tray as Windows starts then I know that many of the rest of the icons won't show.

If you do a clean boot, can you still see the issue?

Extremely laggy behavior when right clicking on 10-like menu tile, bascially all clicks and hovers after showing the context menu are severely delayed, measurable in seconds

please note this issue is present as long as I remember, both across different win11 and Start11 builds and it's consistently preventing me from using this tool due to inability to set my start screen up

In the Windows 7 start menu mode, it appears that the profile picture appears in it's final place before the start menu slides up into place. Like, it's there before the animation even starts.
