Groupy messing with maximized state of window

I have already opened window let's say for Power Point app and it is maximized. Now, when I open a new Power Point file, then Groupy groups the new Power Point window with the existing one however, Groupy unmaximizes the windows instead of adding the new window as maximized to the existing maximized window. This is a nuisance because for every window I open and every time I open a new window I have to maximize the grouped windows because Groupy is unmaximizing them. Can you fix this issue? This is happening with Microsoft office applications and other apps too.
