Is it just me, or has the quality of Wallpapers dramatically decreased?

This site used to be the first site I visited if I wanted to get a really cool, good looking wallpaper to spruce up my desktop. Well, sadly it has become one of the last places I visit. I don't want the artists to take offense to anything I say (they probably will anyways), but it's just not the same anymore. It's the same cliched designs over and over. Ever since this site became more leniant in their filtering, it's been downhill. I'd like to hear your opinion.

im gonna have to agree with u all hre, if u go back about a year ago, the subimssions were quite good, but after about two months ago it has just been down hill, i also just had one shot down by the moderation too , but hey it happens. I just think it needs to be less err... i dont know if selective is the word im looking for....

lol don't feel bad - 3/4 of my stuff gets rejected promptly - thereby keeping the trash out..

I disagree, not even most of the stuff here is junk - it's all relative.

Yes, a year ago I remember...

We had a bunch of high quality (not to say that there arent any good ones out there now) artists...Now adays... I dont look at the wallpaper section as much as I used to, nor am I as excited as I once was when I saw there was a new submission... Things have changed...

As I see it, it takes less talent...less skill...less work to get a submission in... Its not as admirible as it once was. While some people will be dissappointed when they see their submission was cut, that will give them incentive to try harder...and thereby increase the quality of their submissions...and the number of downloads from the hundreds to the thousands.

Which is more artistic? The Mona Lisa, or a paint splat?

True, both can be considered 'art' but I think we both know which we'd rather see on display.
