Taskbar "Close all Windows on this Display"

I think this is a newish thing and not sure if it's related to Start11. On my taskbar when I right click a program the close button says "Close all Windows on this Display." I am used to right clicking taskbar items down there to close them, but if I have, say, two or four Chrome windows open and click that, it closes all the Chrome windows, whereas it used to only close the one. If I open the window and hit the X in the top right, it only closes that window, as expected.

I would like to be able to right click a window on the taskbar and close only that window, but I don't see an option for it anymore. I've been accidentally closing down things I need to leave open like crazy. Is this something hidden within Windows somewhere or a feature that Stardock could consider?

Thank you!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. You can use Shift+right click on the taskbar button to have the close option.

Thanks

Can we change this?  It is super annoying and I keep accidentally closing all my firefox windows because this messes with a habit of decades of use.

I'm not sure if this is a Start11 thing or a Windows thing but it couldn't be that hard to add an option to make it go away. It's VERY annoying. And if you have file transfers going and close a folder window it will kill the transfers.

This is how the feature works in native Windows 11, this is how S11 is also styled

Is this something you could consider as a feature request? To change "Close All Windows" to just "Close this Window"?

If your referring to the "Close all" option being native in W11, other competing customization tools (both free & paid) have the ability to change it to "close single" program windows. Don't see why start11 couldn't add it in also...

All the roundabout methods to do close single windows are just temporary solutions until the simple close single button gets added to the right click context menu.
