Start11 - Change color of flashing active taskbar icons?

I've searched for a setting and on the forums for this but did not find any results, so I'll ask.  Installed Start11 today so I could finally get ungrouped taskbar icons in Windows 11, and that's working great.

My question:  When there is activity/notification in one of my windows, the icon in the taskbar flashes red.  For example, when receiving a message on Teams or when attempting to close a file and the pop-up appears asking if you want to save the file first.  Is there any way to change the color of that flashing so it's not red?

I was unable to find a setting for this in Start11, but the change definitely occurred as a result of installing the product.  I have not chosen red as a color of any kind in any settings (within Start11 or in any standard Windows personalization settings).

Any help would be appreciated!

What colour were you expecting it to be usually?

Try unchecking "Show flashing on taskbar apps" in the Windows 11 Taskbar settings and see if that helps.

In Windows 10 the icon/program in the taskbar would flash yellow, so I was expecting that to return.  Flashing red makes it look like something is wrong, in my opinion.  Red is typically a color of warning or problem, so I'm confused by the color choice if it was in fact intentional.  I'm curious if there is a way to change it, as I have not found a setting for that in Start11.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried that but it appears Start11 must be overriding that setting as the program bars continue to flash even after disabling that Windows 11 setting.

Anyone else have any other ideas?  Do the bars flash red for other users as well?

Red is the colour used in Windows11, though it is more of a pink when in light mode.

We have tweaked Start11 to closer match the default Windows 11 colours in 1.39.1 and later so it will be less bright red.

The current dark red and short blinking time makes this feature USELESS. Notifications are missed because of it has not enought contrast\time

Can you add a feature to change the color?

It should be identical to the Windows 11 taskbar without Start11 being installed.

An app should finish in red state once it has a notification unless the app is doing something unusual.

That is the problem.  The current color is Another Micrsoft fuck up that maybe Start11 can fix.

Looks like you are thinking on the progress indicator of the buttons, red when a process stopped (And that is another fuck up of microsoft because they moved the progres to a tiny bar barely visible) but tha is not what Im talking about.

What I mean is the color from when the app needs attention and flashes the taskbar button

It was working fine, it used to be orange, but now, after a windows and Star11 updated at the same time It looks like this:

When a window needs attention, it flashes the button, but with this darker red is almost invisible and the blinking pases unnoticed missing important notifications.

As the OP asked, can Star11 have a setting to change this color to something visible?

And maybe also to change Number of Flashes (https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/change_taskbar_flashing.html)

Sorry to necro an old thread, but... could we have a colour picker for that, and also the progress bar when a browser is downloading something? It used to be green, and now it's greyish.

I wouldn't mind an option to stop vertically centering the notification tray icons and an option to show ALL icons there, like it used to be possible since Windows XP, until M$ decided in their infinite wisdom to cut it out. And now I have to click every single icon as I install a new app that puts icons there.

Remember, just because M$ changed something, doesn't mean it's a good change. Quite the contrary. They can't get anything right in W11.

I have the same request. I want to change to color back from red to orange, how it was in Win10. To me that was perfect. The design of Win11 is imo all wrong. I am already a bit frustrated that I have to use - and pay for - an external software like Start11 only to get the great task bar functionality back how it was in Win10 by default. Now it's even more frustrating to me, that Start11 does not offer this particular functionality.
I just want everything exactly the same as it was in Win10.
