Pretty sure Start11 gets this avatar from Windows. Have you rebooted your computer since you updated you Microsoft account?

Check in the Windows Settings under Accounts>Your Info, and make sure you have updated the user photo. It should have updated from your Microsoft account if you are connected.

i have yes.  was trying to get the whole stack from online to windows to start11 reset to the user default and start11 was the only one left retaining the old one for whatever reason.

wasnt sure if there was a way to force the clear or delete the cache somewhere or perhaps it'll do it at some arbitrary point.  microsofts syncing stuff can behave pretty poorly relatively speaking.

A couple more things you can try.

Click on the avatar in Start11 and select Switch User. This should bring up the Lock screen. Now sing in to your Microsoft account.

Also, try clicking on the avatar in Start11 and select Sign out. Sign back into your Microsoft account.

Try right-clicking on an empty area of the Start11 menu and select Refresh icons multiple times.
