icons in folder disappeared after pressing shortkey win+d

Hello there

I have some troubles when using Fecens3(not yet 4):

When I press win+d, go back to desktop, however icons in folders disappeared.

Icons straightly in desktop(not in folders) are fine, no problem.

My system is win11(22621.1194), fences3 version(3.1.3.3).

Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I think, it is best to move on to Fences 4 when using with Windows 11.

Thanks

I have a license for 5 PCs on my Fences3.

Which's the best way to move to 4? I want to keep 5 PCs in future.

Please review this thread: https://forums.stardock.com/508196/fences-4-upgrade-faq. Also, note, now Fences 4 have option to purchase it with 5 activation.

Also, it is best to do the time trial and see if your issue is solved with Fences 4.

Thank you,

I installed Fecens 4 for trial. However, there's still the same problem(when press win+d to desktop, icons in folder disappeared)

I try to change some setting to those folders, but when I click either the folder or the icons in it, Fecens request a normal license.

Seems that a trial license can't use folder functions?

I'm not sure what's wrong now? I can't tell is Fecens has bugs or my setting is wrong... so I didn't by a license yet.

What should I do now?

When you install Fences 4 did you uninstall Fences 3 first? Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the installer for Fences 4 again. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

If the issue still there, please make a video of the issue, upload it and share its link here.

I didn't uninstall 3 before installing 4.

So I tried the way you provided in the url, now Fecens 4 works well, only except a little thing:

There's no selection which can straightly open Fecens setting, in the menu when right click on desktop. I remember the selection is vaileble in Fecens 3.

Then, I tried uninstall and install Fences 4 again several times, try to fix this. But I can't, it's the only problem I met till now.

Nothing else, it would be nice if the little issue could be fixed, otherwise I can use the icon in desktop to open settings of Fecens.

When Microsoft decide to clean up its context menu, Windows 11 has buried that option deeper into the context menu. Now you need to right click on the desktop->Show more option->View->Configure Fences.

Oh, I see. The option is hiding behind the View option.

Thinks very much for your help, I have no problem now.
