Keep losing items in various fences

from Stardock Forums

Two of my Fences keep losing all their items. Restoring snapshots does not replace them even though the snapshot appears to have the lost items.

I am on the Beta release.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your system.

  1. You on Windows 7, 8,10 or 11? And, need its full version number too. Windows Beta?
  2. Fences version numbers.
  3. Do you have OneDrive Desktop Sync turned on? or Anything similar to it.

Fences: 4.0.7.2

Desktop is NOT synced anywhere.

Those missing icons are within a Normal Fences or Portal Fences? If its normal Fences. Turn off Fences and see if the icons still there on your desktop. Test that and report back.

To turn off Fences. The screenshot below is from Fences 3, but Fences 4 has the same location.

They are not on my desktop.

Also, I do not understand why the snapshots do not restore properly.

I love Fences. Just need to get it working consistently.

If you turn Fences off and those missing icons is not on the desktop, than its no longer inside your desktop folder, which mean something is deleting it off. Obviously, layout snapshot cannot restore deleted shortcut/program etc.
