Start11 adding a folder does nothing

Hi all,

I am running windows 11 latest version with Start11.

I purchased start 11 for one feature alone, "fly out folders"

When I add a folder to the taskbar using "pin to taskbar", nothing happens

is there a way to make this work?

thanks

Dan

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, unless I mistaken, there is no such option in Start11. BTW, where do you see it mention that Start11 have such feature?

Thanks

How to PIN a Folder or File to the Taskbar

1. Right-click or press and hold on to the folder and then click/tap on Show more options > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

2. Right-click or press and hold on the folder shortcut on your desktop, then click/tap on Properties.

3. In the Shortcut tab, add the word explorer followed by a space, in front of the Target path. Then click/tap on Apply.

4. Click/tap on the Change icon button.

5. Under Look for icons in this file: type imageres.dll and press Enter. From the folder icons that appear, select a folder icon that you like, and click/tap on OK.

6. Then, in the folder Properties, click/tap on OK.

7. The icon of the folder's shortcut on your desktop would have changed to the icon you had selected. Right-click or press and hold on the folder shortcut, then click/tap on Show more options > Pin to taskbar.

8. Your folder is now pinned to the taskbar. Just open with a click/tap.

9. Delete the folder shortcut on your desktop.

Dan and for those who need pin to taskbar, like I do, I had to use a competitor's software - start is back - for windows 11. If you get the black screen with cursor issue don't panic like I did, I was able to ctrl alt delete and then used manage account to find my way to waterfox and watched the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRhAZid6zSE. once I followed the regedit portion of the video, no more black screen on reboot and not once has it failed me when I needed to pin to taskbar. That was the main issue I had with start 11, it couldn't work around that issue for me. So, Basj, no disrespect but that feature does exist with your competitors software.

PS, it does have a fly out folders option, not sure how it compares to Start 11.
