Object Dock causing delays

New installation of windows 10 with all the updates. My processor won'r allow windows 11. Opening any program using an objectdock icon causes the computer to pause about 15 seconds. Afraid to start over installing objectdock because I have close to 55 programs docked.

Any suggestions out there?

Object Dock is not compatible with Windows 10/11.

Oh no! Is there not going to be an upgrade to make it work? What is a solution?

I'm sorry, no solution I'm afraid and there are no plans of further development of Object Dock. Have you considered trying Fences?

I'm devastated. Now I don't trust start10 either.

Why would you not trust Start10?

Start10 is designed specifically for Windows 10.

If you were to use Windows 11 then you can use Start11 which supports both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Start 10 is as the name says for Windows 10. No need for no trust.

Keeping in mind that it's not supported on Win10, there is a trouble-shooting section within Object Dock you can play with to see if anything helps, picture here:

There is also a note regarding 64bit apps, you can see if that's relevant:

The problem might be related to the number of items you have docked, my suggestion is to backup the settings and try creating new dock with a small number of programs. I've been using it since I believe Windows 98 and strangely now that I am running Win11 it seems to work better than it ever did.

Yeah... I have over 65-70 programs in 7 different docks. Suppose I could try and clean some out.
I have to expect that at some day you will stop supporting this too.

I think that is way too many and I am not sure if Object Dock was ever meant to be used that way, (even though there is an option to create multiple docks). For what you are doing, Fences would be a better option.
It is said that Object Dock is not compatible with Windows 10/11 and the reason why is because support and updates have ended but a lot of people still use it without any major issues, I use it and it works fine on my Windows 10 computer, I also still use RocketDock from time to time and it was abandoned years ago, I don't experience any issues with RocketDock either.
I use a dock for my most used programs, usually what is on my start menu and maybe a couple extra, I would never consider using it for as many programs that you are, if I wanted to have that many programs organized on my screen, I would use Fences which is also what JanOscar is suggesting you take a look at.

I'm getting used to the 10 second delay in opening anything using the docks. I have 7 docks with 60 programs or so. My whole computer is organized using the docks. I don't use windows at all to call up programs. It's great.

I believe I have a solution to this issue using the following settings

The delay is reduced dramatically and is almost instant
