I noticed some time ago that my user icon is not displaying on my start11 menu. I fiddled with it a bit and nothing seems to have fixed it. Is this a bug?

Meanwhile, I noticed one of my options was grayed out

Start Menu > Configuration > Customize menu visual appearance

Is there something I need to do (or undo) to make this option available? Maybe it's the reason my user icon is not displaying in the menu?

Start11 v 1.31 (most recent update available)

Windows 10 Home

Start menu > Modern style -> grid modern style

Start Menu > Configuration > Start Menu Theme: modern theme

No, I do not. I do have Fences3. I also noticed my laptop, with both Start11 and Fences3 is fine on both issues. I'm wondering if there's some file(s) I might copy for the configuration from one computer to the other which might resolve these issues?

Please try Start11 V1.35 Beta, you should be able to download it from your account: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. First uninstall you current version of Start11. Reboot immediately after the uninstall. Install the Start11 V1.35 Beta. Reboot again and report back.

Software is telling me I'm running the most current version. Is it possible my hardware and/or Win configuration means I am not eligible to update to a more recent version? Also, I'm part of my husband's account so it's not listed as a download option in mine.

The software will not detect a new beta version. But, if you purchase Start11 directly from Stardock, as a stand alone purchase or as part of object Desktop package, the beta installer should be available under your account. If you're Object Desktop subscriber, the beta should be available if your subscription has not expired.

What you see if you use Windows 10 default start panel? Does the User avatar show up in there?

Fixed. Apparently, using a PNG formatted image was problematic. When I changed it to a jpg and rebooted, the new image showed up fine.

 

Problem resolved in Start11 as well.
