Start11-Can't reposition Taskbar

Hello:

After Windows 11 update 2242, positioning the taskbar is a no go.

I've been trying to get the taskbar to position at the top of my monitor. I tried the Purge file but nogo. My taskbar is firmly stuck at the bottom of the monitor.

Thanks

What Style are you using ..All ?

I'm currently using Win 10 style. I don't see an "all" with v1.25

I have dual monitors with the TB set to "Align Top" and TB buttons set to "buttons should be combined" to "always"

Windows 11 update 2242,

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, 2242 or 22H2? Also what error popup when you try to put the taskbar on top?

Thanks

Hello Basj;

Thanks for your reply. My apologies for the typo, it wasn't 2242, but was Windows 11, version 22H2 update. I haven't received any error messages. When I select "align top" in Start11, the taskbar just stays put at the bottom of the monitors. I tried setting only the primary monitor, only the secondary and both. But nogo.

Try uninstall, reboot immediately after it. Reinstall, if possible use the V1.27 beta. Reboot again. Report back.

Thank you,

I might be interested in purchasing Object Desktop having recently upgraded to Windows 11, but I really want to be able to set my taskbar to the Left side of the screen with the icons going up and down the screen vertically.  I'm hoping Start 11 will be patched to allow that at some point.

I installed the Beta and the task bar will not move if autohide is enabled.

This is normal.

Autohide only works from the bottom of the screen in 22H2

I installed the beta but the taskbar still will not move. I see other comments stating the TB will not move if autohide is enabled. Since I don't want the TB always showing on the top of my monitors, I will uninstall Start11 and hope one day a fix/feature is applied.

Thanks

I arrived here with the same problem, but eventually found the following worked for me:

- Turn off Autohide in Windows 11 Settings - Personalisation - Taskbar

- Select and unselect any other option on that page

- Return to Start11's Taskbar settings

- Set the Taskbar position to Align Bottom

- Restart Explorer

- Set the Taskbar position to Align Top

- Restart Explorer

I now have the taskbar at the top of my primary monitor and it also auto-hides. As for this last fact... just don't ask. I think the leprechauns are having a good day.

Thanks dragonflightdesign for your ideas. Unfortunately the leprechauns here, must be sleeping off an all nighter. One question though, how is your TB auto-hiding if you have that function disabled?

I've tried everything but simply can't get the taskbar to sit at the top of my monitors with auto-hide engaged. Sounds silly, but I'm pretty adamant about positioning them at the top since it is so much more convenient to traverse the mouse to the top of 32" monitors Vs the bottom. Hence, 99% of apps have their ribbons set at the top as well.

I do appreciate your suggestion.

Give the leprechauns a kick :-D. I don't know - I expected auto-hide not to work but it did. I'd have been happy just with the taskbar at the top.
