I use a registry hack to hide the shortcut Arrow on my desktop icons after installing start 11 I get black boxes. How I fix it is deleting the icon cash and logging back off the windows and restart it only happens when I install the program.

when in "combine always" advanced taskbar mode, no progressbar indicator is shown under icons when downloading or file copying or any other progress related, actually showing the icon of the app out of focus as if the app is closed

when in "combine sometimes" or "never combine" advanced taskbar mode, when launching a edge web app, the icon on the taskbar disappears and reappear after a page refresh in the ewa
End of MrW0LF's quote

The icon vanishing is a bug in the chromium framework that edge uses.  It can be reproduced in rare circumstances with the OS taskbar too.

Nice to see that you guys figured out a way to make the seconds on clock work better for US regions. I had no doubt you could figure it out. I don't particularly want to use beta software on this machine but will be looking forward to the final release to see the new changes. Also interested in that centering of taskbar buttons coming back. That'll be nice.

I just noticed that when the start button is centered the context menu on the taskbar does not work on the left side of the start button. It does however still work on the right hand side.

hmmm, I am not seeing that exactly but I am seeing something else that's odd...

If I right-click the right side of Start11 button, pick 'run', when I hover over the run menu, the Search icon on the taskbar gets invoked. If I right-click the Start11 button the left side, it does not happen.

I am talking to the smart people about it... Thanks for the report, Naru.

Hello!

I have made my taskbar transparent, but I can not get rid of that last line at the top of the taskbar. This line was not present in earlier versions of Start11. The line is 1 or 2 pixels thick, and runs across my entire screen.

Bug or am I missing something in settings?

At first I thought since I was using a texture on the taskbar it might be interfering. I turned off the texture and restarted still no context menu on the left of the start button. I'm also noticing that hover previews are pushed to the far left on secondary monitors but properly align on the main display.

Just installed Windows 11 22H2 and have this issue with v1.27:

Even if I set the taskbar position on top of screen, it  appears on bottom.

I have a similar problem except it is with Taskbars on Secondary Monitors, in Windows 11 22H2 and Start11 v1.27 when you tell Secondary monitors to Align to Top they appear at the Bottom.

Win 11 22H2, version 22621.521. Start11 1.27 beta.

Sometimes the notification area is messed up.

Edit:

Just find I can reproduce this bug by switching between a Remote Desktop session and the current desktop.

I have been having this issue since upgrading to Windows 11 Pro - 22H2. I am now on beta 1.27.

Before the upgrade I was using Start111.25  to place my taskbars at the top of dual monitors with autohide active. Worked great.

After the Windows upgrade if I turn autohide on, the taskbars relocate to the bottom of the screens. The only way to have the takbars at the top is with autohide off.

I've upgraded Start11 from 1.25 with betas 1.26 and 1.27 with no effect.

  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Version  22H2
  • Installed 2022-09-21
  • OS Build 22621.521
  • Experience Windows Feature Expansion Pack 1000.22634.1000.0

Any help would be appreciated.

I mentioned this on the Stardock Discord, but when I try to click and drag items, they frequently end up far from where my cursor is (usually a fair bit to the left of where my cursor is).  This has been an issue for a while now, but continues to be in v1.27.

This is entirely normal.

Autohide is only supported when the taskbar is at the bottom in newer versions of Windows.

Have seen this bug for awhile, but only recently pinned down how to reproduce it.

If you are currently in the right click dialog menu on something on your start bar, then any new windows notifications are shifted to the current right click menu (instead of in the bottom right corner).

Here GHub posts a notification when you change the mouse DPI so it was easy to reproduce, but this happens with any notification and any program's right click menu.

Unfortunately it seems Microsoft has cut off this option in Windows 22H2, Taskbar position MUST be on bottom side.

I'm using another software that replaces Windows Taskbar to have it on top, but when I open the Start menĂ¹, it appears on bottom... so I have the Taskbar upside and the Start menĂ¹ downside now!!

That's probably because Start11 feels that the Windows Taskbar is located on the bottom of the screen anyway.

An option to customize the Start button position would be very appreciated.

It's still working on my install, BUT: I used to  be able to use the registry hack to have it on top on only _one_ of my three monitors, but now that has broken, so i have to have it on top on both of my non-primary monitors.

Stardock: please consider making it possible to choose a position per monitor for people with more than 2 monitors :/

Autohide and a top taskbar was working OK for Windows version 21H2.  Was the loss of support specific for the 22H2 upgrade?
End of Journeyman133's quote

Yes.

Personally I think Microsoft is still ticked off they had to bring back the task bar so they're trying everything they can do to get people to hate it. That way when they remove it again they won't get as much complaints.

It appears that selecting the hide label option while on a second "page" in the start menu causes the menu to jump back to the first page.
