Fences 4 can't handle 4K monitors - Stardock-Support don't want to know anything about it

Hello,

Unfortunately, the support always refers to the forum, which is wrong. It's a software bug!

I have a laptop with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels (4K). And the error also occurs with other notebooks with the same resolution.

The problem is that the windows / fences no longer have the icons in the window but outside. He only does that when dissolving. If I connect a monitor with a FULL HD resolution, the error does not appear!

Can someone help me, but actually the manufacturer MUST eliminate it?

Thanks bye

Philip

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

End of quote

This is where they are reported and worked through, dersauer, to see if indeed its a 'bug'.

If when you see that, you restart Windows Explorer, does that resolve it?

Hello,

no, the error will not be corrected!

As I said, the exact same error occurs with another device.
I have reinstalled Windows three times. All of them get this error. I installed Windows 10 and also Windows 11.

The error only appears when I use the monitor from the notebook

It must be the 4K resolution!?!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, no, I am running 4K monitor and I don't see the issue. BTW need to know more on your system. What is you scale setting 100%,125%,150% etc? If the scaling is at 200% or more, can you try stepping it down and see if it helps.

Thanks

jeaaa they are the best, error is gone.

It was due to the standard windows scaling. I was set to 250%, if I set 200% the error no longer comes.

I still think it's stupid because this high resolution needs high scaling because you can't see anything else :D  ;P

So it's an error from the program :P , because if I scale up to 250% again, the error comes back.

EDIT:

My correct resolution is 3840 x 2400 VERY VERY high, Windows scales all high resolutions to 250%, I just checked all Dell devices
My laptop is a Dell Precision 5570

Thank You

I have another question, is there a solution in the near future? The scaling to 200% is too small. At work we only have such devices with such a high resolution, so unfortunately we can no longer use fences if it only works with 200% instead of 250%
