Fences updates deleted an entire Fence that contained important documents

Hi,

Fences was constantly updating itself last week and interrupting whatever I was working on, causing the programs to crash.

Now- I cannot find a fence that I created on my desktop to hold important documents.  It is not behind another fence.  IT IS GONE!  So I lost those files!

Is there a way to locate them?  They are not in the Recycle Bin! Nor is the Fence!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Check your Snapsots and restore from one of them

I didn't know about that feature!  But it doesn't go back far enough.  Only the last couple of days.

It has to be somewhere, but can't find it.

Thanks

Hi,

Does Fences store information for each fence on a hard drive?   Like in the user folder?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please check if it was Normal Fence that is missing, check if those icons still available inside your physical desktop folder. If it was Portal Fence check if that linked folder still exist. If yes, than it might be that you have just accidentally move that fence into another Fences desktop page. You can learn how to navigate those pages or disable Fences page. And see if that those missing Fence come back.

Thanks

How would I know in my user desktop folder what is a Fence and what is in it?  I see no hint about that and no listing of the files that I am missing.

How do I stop Fences and ALL of your products  (I have just about every one) from EVER automatically updating itself?

I see no option in Fences to do so.

No.  I see some things in my c:\ user desktop folder that may be some of the ones I lost but I do not see anything Fence related.

Does Fences create an area on a hard drive for each fence and contents?

Thanks for asking!
