Pin to Start menu (Start 11) is not fully working

Not all Pin actions where ending with new entries in the Pin list

Pin to Start menu (Start 11) is not fully working, not all Pin actions where ending with new entries in the Pin list.

Sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't work.

Return to (very) old versions solves the problem.

I used Start 10/11 already for many years, this is the first time I noticed this behavior.

Running latest Start11 edition within Windows 10 (fully updated).

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. You're referring to which Start11 style? Win 7, Modern, Win10 or Win11?

Thanks

I tested:

- all styles

- uninstall/install Start11 with and without setting savings

- several old Start11 versions including Start10 resulting in Pin updates are 100% working again

- Unpinning is always working

- All tests were done within Windows 10 with all updates using GPT filesystem.

So, there must be something changed in the latest Start11 version(s).

First, Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

I did the following:

- execute Purge_StartALL. Removed Start11 ending with not successful messages. I clean-up Program Files and registry entries myself;

- reboot Windows 10;

- install latest Start11_1.25-j203-Setup_sd.exe software;

- strangely I had to activate the license twice;

- although cleaning up is done, the pin list was not empty. I forgot to clean-up the <user>/AppData entries and decided not to clean-up these entries first and run the tests.

But, now it seems to work in the correct way. Pin actions works (again) as expected. Little bit unclear what was the issue here.

Of cause I am happy that it is working again. Thx for your support on this matter.
