how to see secondary computer?

Am configured to connect to the 2nd computer using KVM mode. All I get when trying to connect to the 2nd computer is a blank gray screen (from which the 1st (primary) computer cannot recover without a hard reset). In other words, this product does not appear to work at all. Any ideas please?

Thanks for the reply. The suggested help page (thread) had no relevant information. I can see a mouse cursor when switching to secondary, but the screen is gray (and my computer is in terminal limbo). I'm sharing the same monitor/keyboard/mouse on both computers using a hardware KVM switch. The screen is large (3840x2160).

Thanks for the reply, but huh? What does the response mean? The monitor I'm using is connected via HDMI. Oh, and adapter switches (such as recommended) seldom work. I wonder why they are even sold.

They have worked for many and not just for MP - headless (what I thought you might have) PCs cause headaches for a variety of remote management software including Window's own RDP.

If that is not applicable, that you actually do have a monitor connected, this is what you would need to review:
