Start11 Version: 1.24

I just upgraded my main monitor to the Asus TUF VG32VQ as mentioned above and something weird and annoying is happening to Start11. Every time I let the monitors idle to dark or if I turn them physically off I have a weird problem occurring.  When the monitors idle to dark and I wake the system Start11 loses cohesion and I will all of a sudden have two taskbars on the main screen.. The second one in the back that is neigh impossible to raise is the native windows taskbar and start menu, and Start11 becomes an overlay.. The Start11 part no longer has access to things like the browser.. open programs no longer highlight tiles as the native bar in the back has hijacked them. I have to restart the PC to fix this until the next time the monitors go dark. I cannot get a snapshot of the hiding taskbar very easily, but I can get one of the browser no longer having its tile linked to the Start11 Interface.  I can have several programs/windows open and the highlight of the tile being active is just not there. If I click on the taskbar when this happens instead of bringing my window forward it opens a new instance. I can alt=Tab to bring a previous window forward, but the taskbar becomes useless until I restart the computer.  The new Asus Monitor seems to also detach from the system when I physically turn it off as I hear the windows peripheral disconnect sound. This as well will cause the same result when I turn the monitor back on.  The hidden native taskbar will occasionally show behind the Start11 interface, but it almost never available for screen capture or access.. Tiles will be on the native bar and accessible.

I have attempted to reinstall Start11 with all settings removed, reconfigured my interface and yes.. it happens again immediately when the above circumstances present themselves. Here is a snap of Google Chrome open and the taskbar without the tile being accessible.

Taskbar Being Stupid

Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter.. I've used Stardock's replacements ever since Windows 10 became stable with 1909.. It's a great product.

Namaste,

Koga

Hello,

Sorry to hear you're having issue. Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot (important), reinstall Start11, reboot, retest it. Report back here.

Thank you.

I already did that, as stated above. That is a normal process for me as part of troubleshooting soft of this type. The result is the same.

Addendum: I do believe I have figured out what is causing it. My new monitor has Display Port capability. The crazy people who designed the connector and also Microsoft and Nvidia have yet to do anything about the fact the monitor actually disconnects when it is either turned off or it goes dark when Idle.. I previously was using a Samsung smart TV on HDMI and never had this issue. This DP hot plug thing is messing with the current version Start11 badly. The switching is apparently causing Start11 to detach its overlay..

Thank you very much. I will be sure to do that. I would like to add that I just changed my display cable back to an HDMI tonight to test to see if the annoyance returned and or continued, and yes.. It did *sighs* back to leaving the monitors on. So.. it is apparently not connection specific.

Thank you for the v1.25 update, but this still has not fixed the problem caused by display port deep sleep mode. I am still having to sign out and back in or restart the computer to get everything working again. Just wanted to let you all know..

Namaste...
