Icons go missing

I am running Fences under Windows 11 64 bit. I make a fence, put my icons in it and when I re-boot the icons have disappeared and I have to start again. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. You on Fences 3 or 4? And its version numbers please.
  2. When you restart does the missing icons reappear? If not, if you disable Fences, does the icons reappear on your desktop?

Refer screenshot below to enable/disable fences.

Thanks

Thank you for your reply. I am running  on Fences 3- V 3.133 under Windows 11 64bit. If I disable fences the icons are still there.

Great, so than we know all the icons is still on the desktop. Enable the Fences and try disable the Fences Desktop page. and see the missing Fences return. If they do, that shows that your Fences was just somehow send to another Desktop page.

Why do you make it so difficult to attach a graphic?, I open Fences but there is no link to Fences configuration windows.  The box I am looking at contains, Home,  Color and appearance, Desktop pages, Folder Portals, Roll-UP Fences,Quick Hide, Layout and snapping, Sorting and organising, About, nothing about  'Fences configuration windows'.       I am on Windows 11 64 bit.

By the way, you already have "Desktop pages" listed.

I cannot see the icon you have arrowed. You must realise that you are familiar with this programme but we users are not. What do you mean by already have "Desktop pages listed This surely must be a simple task, I am becoming very frustrated as I have spent over an hour on it

My Desktop pages box is different to yours, for example I do not have Always show icons at startup, are you sure we are discussing the same version? or a Windows 10 version? I need step by step instructions  to sort this problem out

If you referring to my screenshot in reply#10, please look closely, those was from your own screenshot.

Now, back to trying to turn off desktop pages option. You can disable it by "un-tick" that "Enable" box as you show on your screenshot in your reply#11 or refer to screenshot below. Once that is done and check if your missing Fences return.

Great, you get that sorted out. With regards on Groupy on Windows 11. You can refer Stardock Software compatibility chart here : https://forums.stardock.com/505717/stardock-app-compatibility. Groupy, should work on Windows 11.
