Start11 1.2 -- MS Office365 icons are wrong

Start11 version 1.2

Windows 11 Home 64bit, version 21H2, build 22000.556

This is how the Windows start menu shows the MS Office365 icons (look for the Outlook icon):

Powerpoint and Publisher:

And this is what the Start11 start menu shows (Windows 11 style activated but the style does not seem to affect it anyway):

Funnily enough the Office icon itself is fine. I have separate MS apps installed like OneNote or Power Automate that also show the correct icons. Just the Office365 app icons are wrong.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try uninstall, reboot, reinstall V1.21 (https://forums.stardock.com/511466/). Reboot again. If it still fail, please post in that feedback thread.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. The 1.21 beta does something different with the icons but they are still wrong:

Will post a link to this thread into the 1.21 beta feedback thread also.

This is the second thread on this I've seen and neither seem to have a reply since April.  I am getting blank icons for all Office365 products from the alphabetical menu, pinned to the start menu, or pinned to the task bar.  When on the task bar, if the application is actually running, then the correct icon shows up. but when shut back off, the pinned icon goes blank again.  This only occurs while Start11 is running. IF I disable it and just run under plain Windows 11, the icons appear as they should.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. What version of Windows 10/11 you're on and what version of Start11? I can't reproduce the issue on my system. I use Start11 Windows 7 style most of the time. But, if I use Windows 11 style I can't reproduce the issue.

Can you post a video of what you are seeing?

Note : Please post Windows full version numbers please. Use Winver.exe.

Thanks.

In the original post, this is the icon for SelfCert.exe; an application that has been a part of Office for many generations. The app is used to digitally sign a macro project in Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Outlook, or Word. It's really strange that Start11 is picking up this icon for the Office apps instead of the correct app icon.

I'm running Start11 ver. 1.25 on both a Windows 10 machine and a Windows 11 machine and the Office apps appear correctly on both machines. Actually, they have been correct since the first beta version. It's something specific to your system.

I would try a purge and reinstall. Follow the directions here: https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#reinstalling

It's also possible rebuilding your icon cache will fix this.
