Dragging from app list to start loses icon picture.

Hi,

Minor issue: If I drag an icon from the app list to the start menu in the windows 10 theme the icon changes to the windows default picture. If I right click the app and choose pin to start the app picture shows properly. I can't remember how long it has been happening but it's been like that for the last few builds of Windows 11 Dev. I'm on a Surface Pro 2017 running 22567.

Also, Edge browser apps don't show up on the app list for a long time unless I force Windows Explorer to restart or reboot.

Neither of these is a real problem, just a bit of a pain.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. You're dragging from which app list? A video will greatly help us to understand it better.

Thanks

Just a followup:

I installed the latest Start11 beta 1.16 that was available to me and the same thing is happening. I should have mentioned that it seems to be only with Web Apps installed with Edge that exhibit this behaviour.

Hello,

I tried doing the same thing as you did. But, I don't see that issue on my system. Every time I drag it over, the icon follows. Is this issue on any apps or only MobileSyrup?

Thank you,

Any app generated by Microsoft Edge exhibits this. All other apps work as expected. Also, Edge apps don't show up on the app list until an Explorer refresh either by forced restart, reboot or some other Start11 internal refresh mechanism. This is minor so I really have no expectation for a solution, but I thought Stardock should know about it. I may be the only one experiencing this.

I still appreciate the quality and complexity of the software and use it every day.

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by app generated by MS Edge. Was it installed via WebCatalog Classics? If not, please elaborate the steps to generate app by Edge.

It's been part of Edge for a long time. From any site click the triple dots on the top right of Edge; click on Apps about halfway down; click on "install this site as an app"; click on install.

A new windows app will be created based in the website. I use this a lot for sites I use regularly...even Stardock.

In the Windows 11 start menu it shows up in the App list immediately and can be pinned to Start menu like any other program.

It does eventually show up in the Start11 app list with a little coaxing and can be pinned to its start menu as I showed you but exhibits the problems that I started this thread with.

That's it! I have been using the Dev version of Edge. It looks like there is a difference in the way the web app is created. Using the production version of Edge worked fine. Thanks for the help.
