Just purchased version 4 and when I log into my pc my desktop fences are scrabled all over the desktop

Restore from smapshot bug also in this version

This is what my desktop should look like and I have a few snapshots saved like this but they will not restore. When I choose restore snapshop the desktop changes and then in 5 seconds goes back to the scrambled version.

 

I do have multiple monitors and it I log off and back on sometimes it comes back. I have had this issue a while in my Fences 3 and have been living with it because as long as I had a snapshot it would restore. I though upgrading would solve this problem but it obviously has not. Any idea when this will get fixed.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. These saved snapshots are those that you bring over from Fences 3? If so. Can you do a new layout fresh from within Fences 4 and saved it and see if that one stick.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

If I run the purge process you are talking about will I have to re-create all my fences again? I did that 2 times already and it took hours to get it almost the way it was but not exactly. I wish there was a way to save the settings and then restoring them if this was possible. I just signed back into my computer because I was gone for a couple of hours and this is what I came back to as far as fences is concerned. It is all messed up again.

The purge should not remove your saves layout snapshot. But, just to be sure you can use this guide to backup your saved snapshots.
