Please fix auto grouping for exclusive

This feature is broken since years and stopped working properly, 2-3 years ago. And it is STILL NOT FIXED.

If you declare exclusions, so those are grouped automatically, that doesnt work:

I have selected two processes to be auto grouped, but doesnt work.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I am not sure on your issue. You set notepad to group automatically every time you open a text file and it does not group?

I have set and it open and group without issue.

No it does not work. It just works if you set all to auto group, and then the exclusive list is obsolute. Like this:

Then even if you set it to all, it still doesnt work for all, for example the jpegview ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/jpegview/ ) example in the list above.

What do you think 'exclusions' are and what you do think the 'automatically group' option does?

Grouping is set to manual, via this:

=> just group, by manual force via "mouse right click hold + moving"

from this, excluded is:

=> "group automatically"

Meaning: Group nothing except via manual (right click hole) EXCEPT the programs in the list, which will always group.

This is the only way it makes sense, and how it should work. It doesnt.

Next to this, there is also a bug, that some applications, not even work, even if you set it to:

Example above, JpegView.

From the looks of it, when something is set to an auto group, and since no modifier can be set for exclusions (Shift key, right-click in this example), exclusions will not be observed for them.

What do you mean with that. That makes no sense, then this need to be changed.

I want:

1. manual mode => with override, for example right click moving, that you can always group, manually

2. in combination with an exclusive list, which will regardless always auto group

What is the meaning of the auto group list if it is ignored if you set a modifier? Then that wouldnt be an auto group anymore right?

Ok, there is some misunderstanding here (some on my part), a little bit of a language barrier, and brevity is not helping us here.  I am going to detail your issues as I understand them with examples.

For starters, this option is irrelevant for what I understand the core issue you are detailing.  Using it will override any exclusions you set and has no bearing on how auto-grouping should function:

What you want with this option:

Example of Groupy ignoring the Notepad exclusion when Ctrl option is enabled and it (Notepad) is run.

What does not appear to be working, and something I can pass on, its the app is still grouping when Ctrl is held down even with the exclusion set.

Conversely, auto-grouping does work:

If I have the Ctrl grouping option set, but don't use it for the 'automatically grouped' Notepad, its still groups - what we expect and want.

Have I hit your problem with either of these examples? If I have not, and you need to supply video of your own, do not use apps that are not native to Windows - use apps we both have by default.
