Icons in Fences Being Improperly Clipped

Winx64 Pro with all patches)

I have multiple fences aligned next to each other and the width manually set to be wide enough to properly store the icons.

It displays fine for a while and then 1/2 of the icon is missing/truncated. By simply clicking any icon in the fence will cause it to draw properly. If I click outside of the fence, the fence displays wrong.

If I reboot it works properly for a while.

(I have uninstalled/reinstalled graphics driver without improvement)

I have no other oddities with display related issues for any other apps

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please set icon size to classics and see if the issue still there. Report back.

Thanks. No change.

Its easy for me to repro. I have 2 fences lined up side by side (left, right). When created there was a gap between them that I didnt want. I dragged the fence edge to extend/reduce the width of the fence as desired. I chose to reduce the window size until it was the min width for the existing icon size. In this way the fence displayed all the icons and text correctly. I did the same for the other fence. Now I dragged the fences so they were separated by 1 pixel (essentially they were adjoining). Everything originally displayed fine. After a while, as I said, one fence started clipping a portion of the text such that it looked like one fence was overlapping the other. When I click fence 1, both fences display correctly. When I click fence 2, the clipping occurs.

If i remember its not possible to create overlapping fences, so this is really perplexing. I played with width some more and noticed if width is too narrow, the icon text wraps. Since I am not seeing wrapping I know the fence width is fine.

Im at a loss to explain it, but it has been occurring for months over multiple versions of fences. I just got tired enough of it to post a question

Please post a video of this so we can understand it and try to reproduce it.

Thank you,

These 2 clips were taken 30 secs apart with no changes applied. Only thing different is that I clicked on different fence. Clipping can be slight or moderate. There are times when left 2 chars are missing on every line of the icon label

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

If you refer to reply #1 if you also check Auto arrange icons

see if that makes a difference ?

Hi,

I tried it with no improvement. Honestly, it didnt appear to do anything. I thought it might shuffle icons around or sort them or something, but nothing obvious happened and the clipping persisted.

Please note that I have fence separation at 1 pixel (2 fences side by side separated by 1 pixel) and I manually dragged left and right edge inward until it stopped (min width allowed by a fence based on icon size).

I am wondering whether the fence resizing routine is allowing me to narrow fence width a few pixels too much or maybe fences has a width redraw bug where it draws wider than defined width causing it to overlap adjacent fence (which would definitely cause this text clipping)

Also, for fun, I tried aligned to grid. It didnt do anything either
