Fences 4 display corruption

Posting a new topic since it seems my posts in the "support thread" are ignored and I'd like a reply.

Since Fences 4, I have constant display corruptions like this(the black parts):

 

The only way to "fix" it, is to reboot.  But it will eventually come back.  I haven't been able to see a pattern on how it happens.

 

and I also have display problem in the config panel too, any text that is located in a dropdown menu is corrupted and not readable:

Strangely, for the text blur-corruption, I cannot take a normal screenshot of it.  Using a screenshot tool, the text actually comes back to normal on the screenshot!! :-/  So the pic is taken from the cell.

 

I have Windows 11 Pro  with latest updates applied automatically.  Regular windows, not insiders.

Uninstall/reinstall didn't help.

 

Finally, not a bug, but a config request:  Since windows 11, locking/unlocking Fences got really complicated.  You have to select "show more options" first to get the "View" sub-menu.  And while I know that's not a change made by Fences, but a change in Windows 11,  it would be nice if the Lock Fences options was moved to the menu we get when right clicking on a fence(that would be logical).  Or maybe moved in the Fence panel config.

Hi,

 I executed the batch file as admin, it removed fences, I rebooted, reinstalled fences, redid the fences, rebooted and:

1- For the blackness, I will wait a bit before reporting since it happens randomly.

2- The text corruption in Fence config panel is still there.

Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? and its version numbers. Please use Windows own Winver.exe to get that version numbers.
  2. Display setting, single/dual/more monitors? Resolutions and Scaling on each.
  3. Does HDR turn on in those monitors? If it does, try turn it off, does the issue goes away?

  • Windows 11 21H2 build 22000.493
  • 3 monitors, but I use Fences only on my main.  And indeed, the text corruption is only on the main monitor(I had never notice that since I had only opened Fences config app on the main monitor so far :-/)
    • Main monitor resolution is 3440*1440. No scaling(set at 100%)  HDR is turned on.  Turning HDR off doesn't solve the problem.
    • Second monitor is 2560*1440, text is fine. No scaling(set at 100%)  Does not support HDR
    • 3rd monitor is 1920*1080, text is fine. No scaling(set at 100%) Does not support HDR

Hello again,

I believe this is known issue with Windows 11 as mentioned by other user who is having the same issue as your as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/509612/get;3834107. Hopefully Windows get new update to resolved this issue.
