Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Windows 7/8/10 or 11? And its version please. You can use Windows own Winver.exe to get full version numbers.
  2. IconPackager version.
  3. And does this issue happen on any theme?

Thanks

I'm having the same problem, basj.

I'm using Windows 10 Version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1469)

IconPackager Version 10.03

And it happens mostly with the older packs. The ones designed for Vista. But I thought they would still skin properly for Windows 10. My problem is the same as the OP. The icons will display properly when they are set to small but will revert back to the normal Windows 10 icons as soon as you try to resize to anything larger.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Can you post a link or two of those icons pack that you having problem with? Let me check and confirm. Most probable reason is those icon packs were release without large size icons in them.

Thanks

Many of the older icon packages won't display all icon sizes in Windows 10 correctly because they do not contain those sizes. Some older packages only had the sizes 16x16, 32x32 & 48x48 and maybe 72x72 pixels. They also have no icons for live folders. If you can link to those icon packages that you are trying to use, I could check them out for you.

Well, some of those older ones go up to 128x128. But to give you an example, deepblue by BottleBaby has sizes ranging from 16x16 to 256x256, but it will only properly display when the view is set to either small icons, or details view.

Okay I've checked Deepblue. And this package do not have icons for life folders in them. That might be why you do not see those icons in your system. Unless you're not seeing them on other areas too. Can you post a screenshot of those.

Thank you,

So you're saying for the packs to work properly in Windows 10, they must contain live folders? I haven't checked that out yet. But I have a whole slew of links for you of the ones I'm having problems with. Granted, most of these sets were originally designed for Windows XP, but many of them go up to size 128x128.

Here's a list of links to the ones that revert back to their original Win10 after you try to change icon size. Sorry in advanced for the size of this list. And thank you for your reply!

Just a quick update. I just did a check and none of those packs I posted links to have Live Folders in them. That might be what the problem is.

It's that, not covering all the new system icons added to the newer versions of Windows and/or not all icon sizes.
