Missing some of my files with Fences 3.1.3.3 - File Explorer says they are there, but they aren't

I recently upgraded my computer.   After doing all the required Windows 10 updates,  I loaded Fences (v 3.1.3.3) from the Stardock website and configured it with 14 fences, all locked on the right side of my screen, all with rollup enabled.    I also have my desktop setup for auto-arrange so any new icons go to the left of the screen and I drag them into the appropriate fence later.

So yesterday I went looking in a Fence for one of the documents that I had created in the last few days and it wasn't there.   I then used File Explorer to search for the document and it said it was on the desktop ... but it isn't.    I then created a document with the same file name and extension and it allowed me to put it on the desktop, but when  I tried to drop it into the appropriate fence,  it came up with an error that a file with that name already exists.    I could drop that file into another fence or on the desktop.

I then started looking for some of the other files I created over the past few days and had dragged to a specific Fence,  and some of them are missing too.

Any help would be appreciated.  I've used and trusted Fences for years but if I can't resolve this one, I'll need to remove the software.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Usually, this happen if that fence or those files accidentally move to another Fences desktop page. Have you look there? You can learn how to navigate Fences desktop page or disable it and see if that return those missing items back to your main desktop. Refer to screenshot below. Try those and if you still can't find them, report back here.

Thanks

Hello and thank you.   I unchecked the "enabled" box in Desktop Pages settings and the missing files appeared on my desktop.  I left it that way.  I'm still having an issue though for example when I use the snipping tool and "Save to Desktop" or when I print to a PDF, the file/icon doesn't show up most of the time.  I need to do it more than once to get them to the Desktop.

One more thing to add to my last reply.  I can no longer create a new fence by dragging the cursor on the desktop.   hmmm?

End of doumat's quote

Click on your desktop to View and scroll down to Lock Fences

if it's checked Un Check it , then you should be able make the new Fences or delete other ones .
