Stardock became the Joker

(But I am not Batman)

So, I purchased Fences 3 for 5$ from Stardock a while ago. I love this product.

Now Stardock invites me to "upgrade" today, to an unfished, buggy product (aka Beta), for the discounted (currency converted) price of 10$, without even giving me a comparison between the two.

Guys. Are you making fun of me?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you feel that way. It just an invite, you can always decline an invite. And its a beta, so there is no official change log publish yet. For now you can always refer here for Beta Change log : https://forums.stardock.com/508110/. BTW, there will be Beta 2 release real soon.

Thanks.

Basj,

Stardock Community Assistant.

It is more a generational thing that has to do with the current Windows OS.

First is the trend in Windows

(XP) = perfect / (Vista) = weirdness / (7) = perfect / (8) =  weirdness / (10) = perfect / (11) = weirdness

Second is Stardock builds new stuff every generation

Windows 8 = fences 2 / 10 = f3 / 11 = f4

Lastly is demand for stardock products

8 = high / 10 = low / 11 = high

This is why there is new stardock products being pushed and with higher demands there is also more wants as to what their software does so that means higher prices.

If you purchased Fences at $5 then it must have been on a sale as $9.99 USD (before any taxes) has been the retail price for Fences since Fences 2 I believe.
