start 11 taskbar wish list

With the news that the taskbar will be worked on for start 11 ver. 1.1 I thought I would start a wish list of what to add to the taskbar.

"never combine" for taskbar (obviously since there is probably 80 threads requesting this already)

* More size options for task bar, at least 2 more.

* Ability to double stack apps into 2 rows

Taskbar issues are part of next version 1.1

Any way of putting the Shutdown options on the Left of the Start Menu or swapping it with the user image on the Win11 style menu?

Likely not posted in the correct place, but didn't find anywhere else that seemed correct.

I've used other stardock products for years, but this is my first time posting on the forums.  I stumbled upon Start11 a couple of days ago via a link this article...

https://www.pcworld.com/article/549492/hands-on-stardocks-start11-largely-solves-the-sins-of-windows-11.html

I looked over the review and the product, and thought about buying.  However, in the above article/link, and on the download page, it was listed for $4.99, and then I go back today, thinking I would purchase, and it's now $5.99 for a single install!???     I know everybody will say "It's only a dollar", but what gives?  $6 for a single install start menu seems a bit like it got a bit of press, and now buyers are being gouged.  Especially when just a couple days ago it was $4.99.    Maybe if it was 2 or 3 installs for that price, it might be worth it, but I can't see buying it now....particularly since the price jumped up as it did literally, overnight, without explanation.

The price was $4.99 during the beta.  It moved to $5.99 once released.  Think of it as an early adopters discount.  Nothing to do with any press.

I'm running Win 10.

Start11 in Win 7 mode only uses 1/2 vertical screen (Start 10  had an option to increase this to full vertical) please add this option to Start 11

Right click on Start11 icon opens window which needs "Start11 config" in it. Current version, 1.0, doesn't have Start11 in this window. Needs to be added.

Bug(??) I selected the "start11" icon for the start icon but still have the Micro$oft version.

Forget the 1/2 screen comment -- there's already a "show # of shortcuts" if you search for it. But if you want to work in it make the selection of how many to show a little less sensitive - maybe even an option to use whole vertical space without having to play with the # to find good viewing.

My 2 cents after using Start 11 for a couple weeks...

PLEASE give us some better options for differentiating running apps, active app, and others on the Taskbar. The tiny underbars are way too hard to see, especially on a laptop.

Suggestions: thicker & wider underbar, shaded background, outline box of varying thickness, and different high contrast colors in case we use a dark background.

This alone would make Start 11 more than worth the price.

Thanks for listening, Stardock. MS is not likely to listen or change their design, IMHO.

Help us Stardock... you're our only hope.

StartAllBack gives the option of taskbar on top, left, or right  why doesn't Start 11 ???

End of mapline1's quote

Because start 11 uses the Windows 11 taskbar whereas startallback uses a hack to download the windows 10 taskbar onto windows 11.

Windows 11's taskbar has not yet been built to be on the left or right.

If you would like, the combination of explorerpatcher + start 11 will give you the exact same left or right taskbar that startallback provides.
